This is a 1955 5.5hp Johnson used Outboard motors. It is model #CD12. She is complete, hasn't been used in 12 years, and sat in a heated garage all that time. Eventhough gas has not been ran through her system in all these years, and she hasn't been in the water, she does run. Seller put fuel into the spark plug holes, put the plugs back in, pulled her once, and she fired right up, strong. The remote gas tank dissapeared 12 years ago and past owner never got another. The major reason for her early retirement. Seller purchased this motor from a gentleman in his 80's of whom does not go fishing anymore. The motor has always been used on northern Wisconsin lakes during brief summer periods. And, she has never been near saltwater. This motor is not a long shaft, and is the standard 15in. transom heighth, just like most are. Being sold at 1/5th the price that you'd pay for a new 5.5hp machine.

Always ask questions of the seller before bidding. I rarely buy something w/out emailing first for clarifications. Ask for precise measurements (this is esp. important for clothes & shoes) -- if a buyer won't/can't give you precise measurements, don't buy from them. To me, that's a sign that either they don't care enough to act professionally, or they're trying to hide something. Either way, that's not someone you want to do business with.

Always read the description twice before hitting that "submit bid" button. Read it slowly and carefully. If measurements are included, get out a tape measure or ruler to see how big the item will be. If it's for clothes or shoes, compare that measurement to your body. Also, make sure to read the seller's policy on payment and shipping. Find out if they take money orders, personal checks, or electronic payment such as PayPal. Check to see what the shipping cost is and what method they use.
